The Porsche 718 Cayman Goes Four Cylinder For 2017

For 2017, Porsche’s Cayman gets the exciting 718 makeover with an updated interior and a new four-cylinder motors. If you didn’t know this already but the 718 comes from the highly decorated Porsche 718 racer from the 1950’s and ’60s that was powered by a flat-four engine.
The 718 Cayman starts with a 2.0L turbocharged four that produces a solid 300-horsepower, while the “S” model features a 2.5L turbocharged four that outputs 350-horsepower. Overall handling and steering for the Cayman has also been improved, thanks to tweaks to the steering rack taken from the 911 Turbo, along with a stiffer chassis and bigger brakes. You’ll notice cosmetic changes to the exterior with a lengthened nose, sharper headlights, and bigger air intakes. The end was made to look wider, as if it was meant to match the wider rear tires. Inside, there is a 918 Spyder inspired steering wheel and an updated Porsche infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay.
