My Life: #IMEET – The Marcus Troy Experience
January 27th, 2011Have you ever came across a great idea and wish it was yours? It happened to me earlier this week when a friend of mine told me about Imeet.com a division of PGI where businesses can set up conference calls and meetings. He recently started working on the project and wanted me to take it for a test drive and give him some feedback.
I interpreted it a bit differently and wanted to use it as a meeting place to engage my readers, followers and industry peers on the topics that we discussed everyday. This week I’ve been holding conferences in my own personal meeting room called Make Things Happen. I wanted to create a hub for thinkers, brand managers, passion hunters, industry insiders, bloggers and cultural participants to share thoughts, ideas and ask questions.
I call this the true Marcus Troy experience! Being able to connect my industry peers and have them interact with my readers and followers has been the best thing I’ve done all week. People from all around the world have checked into the room to gain knowledge, share knowledge and meet new people.
The application is pretty simple, you can chime in via voip, microphone or have the application call your phone if you are on the road. We noticed that it works best when the app calls your cell phone.
We’ve been having so much fun discussing the things that we are passionate about. Meet some of the people who’ve popped in and out of the room over the past few days.
Rachel Brooks – Mens Wear Designer from Chicago
John Liwag- Creative 20 something Content creator from Los Angeles
Kiel Berry- Team Epiphany Executive in New York
Simply Stirling- Creative Director from Toronto
Raul Hernadez- New York Designer
Eric Valentine – Student and marketing Exec
Corey Kamenoff- 17 Year old blogger and brand owner
Jesse Jones- Brand Builder and Founder of U-ology 101 – Toronto
Jen Hyland: Artist Manager from LA/TO
So many other great minds.
