The world was suppose to end today, so for that occasion I decided to get dressed up and hit the streets. If the world was indeed going to end, I wanted to make sure I entered Heaven in style. Well if you’re reading this, it means that the world did not end as of yet and your homie MT is just running around the city looking fresh.

It is known that velvet slippers are a lot more common around Princes, the wealthy and men who wear robes and smoke cigars. As of late a lot of “regular” gentlemen feel comfortable wearing them with a variation of denim, light or dark, trousers or pants and they are either dressed up or dressed down. I recently got sent a pair of velvet slippers and before I showed you all what they were, I wanted to show you guys how to wear them.

I want it to be known that velvet slippers are not for everyone they are reserved for the confident, the bold and the avant-garde gentleman. I also want it to be  known that the velvet slipper is also “allowed” for the masculine man. If you are that gentleman, then this post is for you. A woman will appreciate you dressed up in this kind of manner if she is a woman of class and style.

I went with a colored pair of denim, a navy blazer, white oxford shirt, green silk handkerchief for pop  and an ascot. If you are going to dress your velvet slippers up, I suggest that you go all the way and look the part. You can roll up your jeans or you can actually leave them down (make sure they are the right length) I’ve see a lot of gentleman wear them simply with a t-shirt and jeans and the look was fresh. Ralph Lauren himself wears them with a pair of denim and a sweater and he is arguably one of the best-dressed men on the planet.
