  • My Life: SXSW 2012 Experience by Marcus Troy

I touched down in Austin Texas Last week to be a part of STYLE X I was invited down to speak on a panel about Style, Fashion and few other pertinent things. After I checked into my hotel I ran into Gabe from the BKc at the W hotel where they had their STYLE X kick off party. I met up with Jace from GG and the cool homie with the dope beard from Tucked Styles.

    Everything’s Purple

I also met up with Kenji Summers from the Passport Project and we hit up the ASAP Rocky & Crew at the Spotify and MSN showcase. ASAP had about 100 people on stage with him while he performed a couple of songs. I heard from his people that he was not feeling that well but he still gave all his energy.

Asap Rocky performed a new song with Theophilus London which sounded pretty dope!

    The homie Chace Infinite.

A giant Doritos vending machine stage…

We left the ASAP Rocky show and then we headed over to catch TI & BOB. It was straight pandemonium outside! Thanks to Jason Geter and Snake for letting us in through the backdoor.

TI making sure his microphone is good.

Nike created a huge basketball court in the middle of SXSW where people could hang out play ball and most importantly try out the fuel band.

Allen O from Upscale Hype rocking the 1’s.

We were invited to the Nike Space to get hooked up with Fuel Bands.

We headed over to the Fader Fort to see my homegirl Karen Civil. My family at Converse were doing a crazy artist installation at the FF. It was super cool.

Karen Civil.. Live Civil it’s the only way. Thanks for taking care of us!

Dee or Ricky and Miss Info ha! I am a twin as well so I understand. We were hanging backstage waiting for Kendrick Lamar to go on.

The Dream was on first and he killed it.

    ScHoolboy Q Killed the crowd!

The next day we went to go hang with the Roots and Jazzy Jeff and crew!

We ended up backstage with the Roots and Jazzy Jeff and crew.

We ended the night on stage with Jazzy Jeff killing a crowd of thousands of people. Thanks to Darnell & Jeff for the love! If you love music you have to go to SXSW. It is a must see experience.
