    My Life: BET Experience At LA LIVE #ForYouWereMarriott

    This weekend, I was invited to the BET Experience at L.A LIVE during the biggest weekend in music: The BET AWARDS. I was hosted by the folks of Marriott International at their JW Marriott LA Live Hotel which is a stone’s throw away from all the action. I was received with my very own (dark chocolate) BET AWARD & macaroons, which was such a great welcoming.

    The entire vicinity was shut down due to all of the activations for the BET LA LIVE Experience.

    Everywhere you looked there were amazing things happening. WNBA star Lisa Leslie showing kids how to ball.

    New artists and veterans like Raphael Saadiq took to the stage to perform.

    Back at the JW Marriott LA LIVE  , all types of celebrities & artists were cruising around the lobby. Here you can see T.I. on his way to speak on a panel about gun violence.

    I also attended a few seminars, which were pretty incredible. We got the chance to hear Pharrell Williams speak about his genius at GENIUS TALKS, hosted by Bevy Smith.

    At the hotel I ran into Chicago’s very own The Monster Kids, who have been on some of the worlds top shows such as Oprah and Ellen for their incredible dancing skills. They’ve even broken world records for head spins.

    This weekend was full of highlights but what stood out in particular was meeting Dr. Dennis Kimbro in the hotel lobby. I’ve been a fan of Mr. Kimbro since I started reading his books. The hotel lobby was magical this weekend.

    Sunday was dedicated to getting ready for the BET Awards & after-party. I decided to wear a suit for the red carpet and awards.

    The award show was awesome! This was the best BET Awards show in a very long time.

    The official after-party was held at the JW Marriott LA LIVE  where all the stars could be seen dancing on the dance floor. The music was provided by DJ D-Nice, who absolutely killed it. There were plenty of special moments this night, especially witnessing Mr. Debarge & CEO of BET Debra Lee cutting it up on the dance floor to his classic songs.
