Driving Through The Golden State

We headed down to San Fransisco to get behind the wheel of Acura’s 2016 ILX. The long winding roads and clear skies provided a really nice break from the Winter here in Montreal. Plus we really got to enjoy what the new ILX had to offer.
There have been a number of technological and design updates that have been done to bring their mid-sized sedan to a new level. The ILX’s design has been sharpened with the addition of the jewel eye LED headlights and matching LED fog lights. While the aero kit under body spoilers and rear decklid spoiler give it a sportier look. Finally, the front-wheel drive vehicle is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels to hug the road.
In terms of power, the 2016 ILX features a 2.4L four cylinder V-TEC engine that powers the vehicle to 201-horse power and 181 lb ft of torque. The steering wheel mounted controls and voice commands make for an easy drive. The additional paddle shifters give you the ability to control the 8-speed dual clutch transmission.
With perforated leather or suede seats serving as options, the cabin is highly oriented to the driver and passengers so that every one is comfortable, thanks to the dual zone temperature control. Acura’s navigation system features voice command and Siri Eyes Free compatibilities allow you to hear texts, emails, and reminders while you drive. The Premium ELS Surround Premium System has 10 speakers and an 8-inch sub roofer, putting out a crisp sound. Which we particularly appreciate because the cabin is quiet, while reducing outside noise. The center touch screen console is responsive and extremely easy to use.
