Monday night I was invited by JLP to one of Jim Jones recording studio’s to capture and shoot a behind the scenes of his Complex magazine interview. The stereotypical setting of a rappers studio was all in place; video games, empty bottles of champagne, homies and a few other things I don’t want to mention.
I was intrigued by the skull pillows above and the skull imagery and artifacts everywhere.
A section of the studio was set up like a Bodega…
I truly witnessed the flourishing of Joe La Puma’s journalistic career as he asked Jim some hard questions that Jim answered with a smile. I’ve heard that Jim only opens up to 2 people 1 being Miss info and the other JLP.
He played us songs off his new mixtape which should be dropping soon, discussed Jay-z, Camron, Drake and a whole lot of other interesting topics.
The interview should be up on Complex next week, in the meantime check out some of the shots.
Going over the Best of 2000’s Complex song list (very intense)
Shout out to JLP, Mikey and Jimmy.
