The collaborative collection created by Adidas Originals and Barbour is one of our favourites so far. With iconic pieces like the Stan Smith sneaker or the quilted jacket, both brands carry their own storied history.
This season, the brands begin their collaborative history together with an offering of footwear and outwear pieces that combine sportswear with style and functionality.
Taking three themes, each story features jackets and trainers or boots designed to be worn together or stand alone. The stories reflect the heritage of both brands from Barbour’s country and military influences to sportswear, the heartland of adidas Originals.
Above are our favourite outerwear pieces from the collection:
Inspired by the country, the Adiwick jacket is constructed in a robust 8oz beeswax. It retains the classic Barbour Beaufort features of large pockets, studded detachable hood and rear zipped pocket. What makes this jacket unique is the extra detailing of added leather trims to the hem, pocket and hood for an up to the minute look.
The Military inspired Baradi jacket is multi-pocketed, full of detail and has a printed camouflage lining made up of sections of the accompanying GSG9 – Barbour boot. The Military story is inspired by a customized jacket that Barbour created for a captain in the British army at the time of the Falklands War in the 1980s.
The Johbar jacket takes the iconic features of a classic Barbour wax jacket, such as, the large ring pull zip, spacious pockets, hand warmer pockets, studded rear vents and corduroy collar and combines these into an exclusive wax cotton jacket in navy with contrasting sleeves and leather binding at pockets and cuffs. This piece was inspired by the Adidas’ love for sport.
Be on the look out for these pieces November 1st.
