So Christmas is here and it’s the time of giving and receiving, well the older you get I feel the less and less you receive, so x-mas came early and my friends over at Nike sent over some goodies. Shout out to the MB’s of the world for always taking care of a brother. What happens when a bag off of Santa’s sled accidentally falls off and drops in the hood? Presents for me is the correct answer!

fruition-shop.png

About a years ago I had the privilege to have dinner with Chris Julien and Samantha Alonso the creative minds behind Fruition Las Vegas, the number 1 vintage luxury streetwear shop in the world. Like everyone else, I heard about the shop trough the blogsphere and made it a point to visit the shop while I was in Vegas for the trade show season. What impressed me about the power couple was their knowledge on fashion, subcultures and their passion for the lifestyle. We spoke about everything from the shop, their future involvement with Kanye West, the future of Las Vegas and their role in the every growing market of streewear culture. Chris and Samantha have a very spriritual approach to life as well, always giving thanks to God for their blessings and opportunities. Fruition is not just their retail operation it has been a life long dream for the two and have finally seen this magnificent operation come to fruition hence the name.

nike-am-90-premium-tech-pack.png

This Air max 90 premium tech pack deserves no explanation. I love the air max series from Nike, they are truly comfortable and are just real classic. I know you’ve been hearing and seeing the Nike tech pack stuff which is very technical and made for the outdoor environment so these are just a great addition to the gear. The details are as follows: premium leather uppers, perforated toe-box, lasered pattern details.

stussy-utility-tool.jpg

I wasn’t sure if I should classify this little nifty thing in coolhunts, accessories or gadgets, so I chose coolhunts to simplify things for me and you the reader. Stussy is a brand I have tremendous respect for, they have been doing the damn thing for more than 25 years and are still relevant. One day I’ll have to profile Shawn Stussy for your reading pleasure, anyway back to this utility thing, the Stussy Utility Tool, has various tools in one: flash light, comes in rip-stop pouch to attach to belt, beer and bottle opener the and length: 70mm (folded) Enjoy!

No one really likes wearing gloves in the winter time unless your snowboarding or holding grocery bags, but these might make you change your mind. Idiom has to be in my opinion 1 of the most innovative and stylish outerwear companies, for those who don’t know Idiom is Burton’s small Japanese house label. These can be used as a snowboard gloves – or just for every-day use. Constructed using premium components from Gore-Tex to palm leather, with Thinsulate insulation for extra warmth. Featuring i-Dot design detailing and Velcro closure to stop snow and rain getting in.

These jackets will be produced in limited amounts. What makes it unique are the invisible zippers, embedded goose down fill, removable fur collar and a couple other things you will have to figure out for yourself if you get your hands on it. Cool hunts: Rogan x Kershaw Knife

December 19th, 2007

roganknife.jpg

This knife collaboration between Rogan and Kershaw knives is definitely a cool hunt for me, no pun intended. This is a limited-edition collaboration comes in matte black finish and is engraved with different sayings from Rogan’s graphic archive.

Exclusively at Rogan, 91 Franklin Street, NYC $150

Coolhunting is a term coined in the early 1990s referring to a new breed of marketing professionals, called coolhunters. It is their job to make observations and predictions in changes of new or existing cultural trends. The word derives from the aesthetic of “cool“.

Established in 2006. On a hidden back street of downtown Edmonton, Canada, Haven sticks out as a bit of a sore thumb. Amongst its pristine, squeaky-clean store fronted neighbors, Haven’s old, rough exterior provides a welcome relief for trendy shoppers looking for something different. Its unassuming exterior gives way to its unequivocally unique yet minimalist interior.

In its large open space, HAVEN houses some of the best and most sought after brands from around the world. Focusing on the very best in exclusive contemporary men’s streetwear, high-end sportswear, and casual wear. HAVEN aims to create a store that we ourselves would want to shop at while providing exemplary service and product knowledge in a very unique and one of a kind atmosphere.
