We had the pleasure of staying at the great Travaasa resort in Austin Texas for Man Skill’s week. I guess we would call this place the ultimate “mancation” destination – the ladies can come too! During our stay, we went horseback riding, did some archery, participated in the ultimate tequila tasting, and we also had the opportunity to cook with their Chef to enjoy farm-fresh foods. We winded down our stay with Travaasa’s amazing spa treatments, which they have been recognized for. You will definitely need to treat yourself to the spa after a few days participating in their activities.
Located in Hill Country, only twenty-five minutes from one of Texas’s most iconic cities, the Travaasa Austin is nestled against two hundred ten acres of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve which overlooks the beautiful Lake Travis. The resort boasts seventy guest rooms that are tucked into a discreet campus-style layout, allowing guests to soak in the natural habitat in an unobtrusive setting.

The well-appointed accommodations all feature Eastern exposures with unobstructed views from every room. While Nature buffs will enjoy meandering paths with rich, indigenous vegetation.
During our stay, we were welcomed to fresh, organic, farm-to-table style cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Jean’s Kitchen. The Head Chef Benjamin Baker uses produce sourced from the resort’s working farm, as well as local meat, fish and dairy farmers, to create flavourful, healthful meals with a Texas Fusion flare. The menus are updated on a daily basis to reflect the changing harvest. Travaasa Austin’s wine list mirrors the brand’s environmental values by featuring organic, biodynamic and sustainable wines made by boutique producers, while also showcasing wines from some of Texas’s finest wine producers. The beer offering is similar, featuring many of Texas’s great craft brewers and imported organic brews.
