"FILA has tapped Marcus Troy and Other Creatives To Reimagine Their Mindblower Sneaker"

There are some who say, “out with the new and in with the old,” such is the case with the release of FILA’s Mindblower sneaker. Originally released in 1995, the Mindblower was instantly recognized by its warped logo that sat on the outside of the sneaker.

The revival of the obtuse “dad” sneaker has yet to reach its end and the sportswear brand is looking to be a part conversation. Besides releasing archival colourways, as others would do, they have asked a number of creative minds to create their own version of the Mindblower.

Marcus Troy and Naskademini has joined nearly fifty other collaborators in this endeavour. FILA has tapped the twins for their continued participation and support of the culture that has shaped them to be the personalities that they are today.

Their FILA Mindblower is a nod to the 1990s and the older heads that were present during the brothers’ childhood. The upper is reminiscent of the velour tracksuits, the jewelry and the cars that defined the era. One important feature to note is the insole, which outlines Little Burgundy, a neighbourhood in Montreal that has a special place for the twins and their friends.

The Mindblower sneaker release will be complemented with a collection of apparel and accessories that features the signature warped FILA logo.

FILA hasn’t forgotten about the future. They will also be releasing the Mindbreaker 2.0, a brand new running silhouette that’s much slimmer than its predecessor. This is where the past meets the future; with the bottom reflecting the warped logo and the top revealing a technical upper. The Mindbreaker 2.0 will be available in four men’s colourways.

FILA is also set to host a trio of multi-sensory pop-up shops in New York, Seoul, and Tokyo to celebrate the launch of the Mindblower and the Mindbreaker.
