  • Sneaker Con Steps Into Montreal

    "The World's Greatest Sneaker Convention"

Founded in 2009, Sneaker Con is hailed as the greatest sneaker gathering in the world. This is where “sneakerheads” congregate to buy, sell, trade, and show off their footwear collection. If you’re not paying attention, you will miss the rarities and oddities that have been released from sportswear brands such as Nike, Air Jordan, and Adidas that a lucky few have gotten their hands on.

The rise of the sneaker world has been incredible to witness. It has risen from being a subculture with a select group of people who collected quietly; to entering the mainstream consciousness filled with hype, long lines, and closely watch released dates.

Many would argue that this popularity has ruined the ritualistic practice of collecting sneakers and the joy of hunting for your grails. But is it rather a natural progression due to the nature of the Internet and its undeniable ability to make anything look desirable? This is a debate that continues on within forums, Reddit threads, Instagram, or anywhere you can leave a comment.

Despite the continual debate, it is quite the sight to see old, new, and future Sneakerheads come together to relish in their shared obsession at Sneaker Con.

Following the Montreal event, Sneaker Con is set to make stops in Chicago, from June 9 to 10, and Dallas on June 30th, 2018.
