Reviews: Le Petit Hotel [Room 102] @petithotelmtl
Style: Boutique hotel.
Atmosphere: Modern with a century old charm.
Staff: Hip, young and attentive.
Average room price: $189/plus taxes.
Wifi: Free.
Room: Room 102 is situated in the newly built corner section on the first floor. It is a great place to stay if you are looking for privacy and if you want to be the first to grab their tasty complimentary continental breakfast. We recommend the chocolatines and cafe lattes.
When you first step into the room, you will enter a short hallway with a large wall-unit standing against a handsome red brick wall. Inside wall-unit there is an ironing board, two bathrobes, a safe for your valuables and plenty of space for your luggage. As you continue along, you will spot a large floor to ceiling mirror, which is great for making sure you look your best before stepping out.
A comfortable king size bed awaits you at the end of the hall. The duvet and pillows are both filled with goose down and feel butter soft. Both side are equipped with reading lamps and an iHome welcomes you with classical music. Across from the bed is a large custom-built desk with a LCD flat screen tv against the wall. There you will find the minibar, that is stocked with Veuve Cliquot champagne and more.
The bathroom is spa-like, as it features an elevated multi-jet massage shower. The bath products by Gilchrist & Soames add to the experience thanks to its eucalyptus base that refreshes wonderfully.
Room Bonus: High ceilings, custom built furniture, private corner, lots of natural light.
View: You will get a view of one of the small alleyways that are characteristic of Montreal’s Old Port.
Beds: King-size.
Lobby: A fusion of old and new, the building itself is a few centuries old and much of the brick work has been exposed to add character. The new is the contemporary furniture that decorates the space.
Restaurants: Le Petit Cafe offers a delicious selection of pastries and coffee. Not only is it a great hotel but a good place to grab a warm drink. They also have a room service menu.
Bonus: Many great restaurants, stylish lounges and bars are within walking distance of the hotel. Not to mention that Monteal’s Old Port is full of history and is an experience in itself. For a drink we recommend Le Philemon, for a succulent steak we say visit the Vieux-Port Steak House.
