"Each time I attend a concert, there are a few things I do that make my concert experience better. Here are my top four tips"

The energy at Montreal’s Bell Centre last week was electrifying. My friend and I arrived a little earlier than usual to avoid the crowds that Rihanna would bring and it gave us the chance to watch people trickle into the arena. We almost couldn’t believe that over 20,000 people would be filling those seats, but they did. This was the second night of the show and it was sold out. Our seats were located on the left side of the stage and it was the perfect vantage point, thanks to American Express Invites.

Before Rihanna came on stage, Travis Scott opened up the show, where he performed songs from his debut album, Rodeo. In one incredible moment, Travis jumped off the stage and began rapping his hit single “Antidote” with a young fan. He then put the fan on his shoulders while he kept performing the song. There was a huge smile on the fan’s face the whole time and I could tell he was at a loss for words.

When it came time for Rihanna to perform, she came out of the other side of the arena and stepped onto a platform, where she sang “Stay.” A large platform dropped from ceiling and it carried her across the floor to the main stage”. The crowd was warmed up at this point and the screams were almost deafening! Rihanna kept performing hit after hit and the crowd got louder as the night continued.

Each time I attend a concert, there are a few things I do that make my concert experience better. Here are my top four tips:

Tip 1:  If you can, arrive early at the show, so that you can avoid having to work your way through crowds to find your seat. You also avoid a line up getting inside the venue!

Tip 2: If the weather is great, park a few blocks away, so you can avoid the traffic once the concert ends. You should also do it even if the weather is terrible, you may get wet but it’s better than waiting in a crowded parking lot!

Tip 3: Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and clothing when you’re going to a concert. You will most likely be on your feet the entire show and you will definitely feel the heat in the venue considering the amount of people who are just as excited and giddy as you are.

Tip 4: Think of the people you may want to bring with you ahead of time! Sharing moments with someone special is unforgettable and you want to make it the best evening possible. This concert was even more memorable because I went with a close friend of mine who’s a big fan of Rihanna’s music, and it was her first time seeing her live in concert.

With American Express’ Front Of The Line, Cardmembers can enjoy advanced access to exciting events ranging from film, fashion, dining and concerts, before the general public. What’s even more exciting is that during the public on-sale period for many major events, Cardmembers can purchase tickets from a block of great seats reserved exclusively for American Express, so you and your friends never have to miss out!

Few things can top a live concert with my closest friends so thank you Amex for the great seats and providing presale access to tickets for some of the most sought after events.
