News: The Golden State Warriors Are NBA Champions @warriors
After posting a successful 67-15 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors have ended it off by winning the championship over the Cleveland Cavaliers with a score of 105-97.
Stephen Curry, the league’s MVP, notched 25 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals but it was Andre Iguodala, thanks to his overall play throughout the series, who earned the Finals MVP honors. In the final game, Iguodala recorded 25 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. He won the award over LeBron James by a vote of 7 to 4 and while James had played an incredible series, it was really Iguodala’s contributions that sealed the deal.
Andre is also the first player to win the honor despite not starting a game the entire season, and when Steve Kerr had started him in game 4, the Warriors never lost again. Another major contributor to the win was Draymond Green, who contributed a triple-double with 16 points, 10 assists, and 11 rebounds.
Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors on your successful season and most of all, winning the championship!
