  • News: Greats Brand Launch

GREATS, the new footwear concept by Ryan Babenzien and Jon Buscemi will debut tomorrow August 6th at greatsbrand.com, just in time for the back to school season. The GREATS collection is based on classic, iconic sneaker silhouettes, given a contemporary update and crafted from premium materials.

The GREATS concept began with Ryan and Jon’s love of sneakers and extensive industry experience – with the focus on delivering a premium product direct to the customer at a price that beats everything else on the market.

GREATS launches with an exceptional team behind it – Co-Founder Jon Buscemi was co-founder and CMO of Gourmet Footwear; Ryan Babenzien was most recently the CEO of BOAST and prior to that the Global Director of Lifestyle Marketing for K-Swiss and brings 18-years of industry knowledge to the table. Also joining the GREATS Advisory Board is Stylist in Residence, Nickelson Wooster.

GREATS will launch the brand with two silhouettes: Wilson and Royale, each style will be available in multiple color ways. Additional styles will become available beginning in late 2013. GREATS sneakers will fit into various price brackets – an entry-level price point of $59.00, a mid level of $89.00 and high of about $100.00 for shoes with luxury materials like deer skin leather and calf skin.

The Wilson, priced at $59, is a low-top retro basketball sneaker in cotton canvas based on the silhouette of the Converse Chuck Taylor shoe, available in red, white or blue.

The Royale is the second available style, an upscale take on the Sixties tennis sneaker. Priced at $99, the shoe is made from deerskin and lined in calfskin leather, with a decorative felted quarter panel on the side.
