News: Dale Chihuly At The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts @mbamtl
From June 8th to October 27th the Glass Master, Dale Chihuly is exhibiting his vast collection of glass works at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and we finally got the chance to visit.
Born in 1941, Tacoma, Washington, Dale Chihuly was first introduced to glass while studying interior design at the University of Washington. Since then, he has spent over 50 years exploring the many ways he can beautifully and masterfully manipulate glass.
After numerous showings in the United States, this exhibition finally crosses the border to become the first showing at a major Canadian museum.
The exhibit consists of eight immersive environments, four of them designed specifically for the Museum. The MMFA calls his exhibit “utterly breathtaking” and the way Chihuly manipulates glass to fabricate his works of art can be considered near alchemy.
We could not help but feel enchanted while exploring the exhibit.
