    On July 20th, 1969, NASA’s Apollo 11 was the first maned mission to land on the moon. This historic moment will forever be summarized by the words spoken by astronaut Neil Armstrong, who said “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” as he stepped out into the moon’s surface. To commemorate the 45th anniversary of the landing, J.Crew has collaborated with New Balance to produce limited edition 997 sneaker. It is seen in an off-white suede leather, navy blue mesh and textured grey rubber highlights. An interesting feature to note is that the light leather and dark accents were made to be reminiscent of the different sides of the moon. The sneakers will also come in a silver special air-tight packaging.
