My Life: As the New Year Comes Around…2009
Some of us like to ponder on the past year and figure out how we can improve ourselves in the New Year. I know it sounds cliché but the New Year always makes you want to reinvent yourself and start over. I try to treat everyday as if it were a new year, If we are fortunate enough to wake up in the morning, we have been giving the opportunity of a new day to start over and to right our wrongs. The New Year is great time to turn a new leaf, develop new relationships, become better people and become better at what we do. The New Year is the best time for reflection and the time to create resolutions to keep for the upcoming year.
We often decide that we aren’t taking any more shit and we start the list of all the things we want to eliminate from our lives. We make decisions to stand our ground and to hold on to what we believe in. Sometimes our new outlook leads to arguments and misunderstandings with the people in our lives but it’s all in the in the quest to becoming better than we once were. The New Year is also a great time to cut off of the people who have brought negative influences and energy into our lives and cultivate new relationships with like-minded people.
I think opportunities are just waiting to be had! Everyone seems to be open to the idea of new opportunities and building new alliances in the New Year, especially in the beginning of the year. I firmly believe that opportunities are seen with the mind not the eyes and paying attention and listening is a great way to cultivate new opportunities.
Take a closer look at yourself! Sometimes we are the reasons to why things are not the way we want them to be. We are often the reasons and the answers to our problems and issues. We create jail cells in our mind that prevent us from being free and seeing the light. I think we should all look at ourselves a little closer and try to understand us first before we try to understand others. I think this year we should pay attention to ourselves and focus on us. We need to watch the moves we make instead of only focusing on the moves of others.
So I will leave you with my catch phrase of the New Year!
“09 Time to Shine and Get Mine”
So please get yours… or help me get mine!
