Music: Majid Jordan – “Give Me A Reason”
The soothing voice from Toronto duo Majid Jordan is welcomed with open ears at a time when RnB is under going a facelift of sorts. The group consisting of Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman previously went under the name GOOD People but opted instead to merge their namesakes together .
Majid Jordan gained notoriety when Drake featured them on his latest single “Hold on where going home”. It is delightful to see Drake’s AnR operations cover such a wide spectrum, as these guys are also signed to his OVO label through Warner Music. They recently made available their EP After Hours consisting of eight songs. As a whole the records on the project exude a sophisticated,calming,rejoicing feeling; a perfect project to play while at the office or even out and about tackling daily tasks.
One of the songs that stood out was “Give me a reason” the blend of electronic instrumental coupled with the catchy lyrics and song matter makes it inevitable to have this song stuck in your head. Listen below and keep an ear out for these young Torontonians.
