Music: Flying Lotus ft. Kendrick Lamar “Never Catch Me” Video @flyinglotus
The release of Flying Lotus’ You’re Dead! marks the artist’s 5th consecutive studio album. Each album carries with it a personal story, a narrative that steadily grows with every new album.
His latest album, You’re Dead! touches upon the subject of death, its mystery and its inevitability, but by no means are the songs melancholic, nor will it bring you to tears. Flying Lotus continues to nod heads with his artful melange of jazz and electronic rhythms.
On “Never Catch Me” Kendrick Lamar embraces the inevitability of death with rhymes like “life and death is no mystery and I wanna taste” but he isn’t ready to accept it without first exploring life.
From the video, one can surmise, that the children who rise from their caskets alludes to the frailty of life, you never know when you’re going to go.
