[NEW YORK, NY, August 13 2013] — WP Lavori in Corso, worldwide license and distributor of international brands such as Woolrich John Rich & Bros., Woolrich Woolen Mills and Baracuta, is excited to announce Thirty Years of Research in Style: WP Lavori in Corso. The lavish volume, edited and curated by Inventory Magazine, celebrates the thirty-year anniversary of the prestigious Italian company dedicated to cultivating classic heritage brands.
Founded in Bologna, Italy in 1982, the success of WP Lavori in Corso (“Work in Progress” in Italian) has been rooted in global scouting and selection of fashion brands and products marked by history, tradition, quality, and innovation. The company initially licensed and distributed brands such as Barbour, Woolrich, and Blundstone in Italy, and thus introduced the world to a new generation of fashion-conscious Italian consumers. Since then, the company has grown to become an invaluable collaborator, working with world-renowned designers and creative directors to start new global trends and produce contemporary designs and styles, while remaining true to the brands’ history and heritage.
Designed to showcase WP Lavori’s fascinating history, the beautifully illustrated hardcover features photographs of the brands it fosters, including advertising campaigns, catalogs and impeccably styled stores. The book also features illuminating interviews with the visionaries who run the company today, including Founder and President Cristina Calori, Creative Director Andrea Canè, Art Director Luca Caccioni, Designers Daiki Suzuki (Woolrich Woolen Mills), Mark McNairy (Woolrich Woolen Mills), David Mullen, Kenichi Kusano (Baracuta Blue Label), Tokito Yoshida (Woolrich John Rich & Bros.), Eichiiro Homma (Nanamica), Takashi Tatsumi and visionaries Yuzo Yagi and Keizo Shimizu, presidents and founders of Beams, Yagi Tsusho and Nepenthes respectively.
