MTTV: Palladium x Marcus Troy Explorer Series “Montreal” @palladium_boots
We worked together with Palladium Boots on their Explorer Series to highlight a neighbourhood in Montreal that is special to us, Little Burgundy. In the early 20th century, it was home to many Black Canadians and it was home to many notable individuals like Jazz musician, Oscar Peterson, and former Government General of Canada, Michaëlle Jean.
This piece celebrates the creative individuals in the area, it is a nod to the Savoir Faire, a person who takes the tools that are available to him/her and makes the best of their situation. It also reminds us of the the community’s gentrification and its effect on the low-income individuals who cannot keep up with the rising rent prices, as a result. Nonetheless, Little Burgundy is one the places that we urge you to visit for its culture, history, and food.
