Looks: Public School Men’s RTW Fall 2016 @PublicSchoolNYC
For their New York Men’s Fashion Week presentation Public School gave those on the outside a first look at their Fall/Winter 2016 collection. The backstage was exposed to fans of the brand who didn’t have access to the coveted seats inside the venue. They were the ones to see the looks first as the models exited from the rear and made their way through the main door before entering the venue.
As for the inspiration behind the collection, it came David Bowie and the 1976 film he stars in “The Man Who Fell From Earth.” In the movie, Bowie’s character Jerome Newton comes to Earth in search for water for save his home planet. It is from this instinct of survival where you’ll notice the use of camouflage on several pieces, along with the use of velcro, zippers, and buttons for utility purposes. As always, the nods to street and sport wear were evident among the tailored pieces.
