Looks: Nigel Cabourn x Fred Perry F/W 15 Collection @fredperry #fredperry #nigelcalbourn
The pieces you see in the looks above are straight from Fred Perry and Nigel Cabourn’s second collaboration. This time around, Nigel Cabourn draws his inspiration from the story of Fred Perry the man. Instead of going straight to Fred Perry, the champion, Cabourn told the story of the athlete when he was training with professional football clubs in the 1930s. This was during Fred’s rise in the sport of Tennis, while preparing for the Davis Cup. This idea of ‘Champions training with Champions’ was the principle inspiration for the collection.
Standouts from the collection are the British made knitwear and outerwear, including the Stadium Coat referencing a style in Nigel’s personal archive made with Hally Stevensons fabric by the Mackintosh factory in Lancashire. The polos shirts are made with an original pique referencing shirts worn by Fred and first created by the brand in 1952 including a black and navy Argyle option. Finally, the Heavy Oxford is one of the smarter styles in the collection in a brushed open-weave oxford fabric that can be worn on its own or as an overshirt.
The collection is now live at Fred Perry and will be available in all Laurel Wreath Collection shops. Moreover, you can pick up the collection at select stockists like Unionmade Goods.
