Gadgets: Samsung Galaxy S5 @SamsungMobile
We have been using Samsung‘s new Galaxy S5 smartphone for a couple of days now and so far it has not disappointed.
We certainly got an eyeful perusing the S5 because of its large and vividly clear 5.1-inch FHD Super AMOLED screen. Further, the advanced Local Contrast Enhancement delivers just the right amount of light to the screen according to the environment it is exposed to.
The pebbled backing felt comfortable in our hands despite the device’s wide body, and with an IP67 certification, the S5 is resistant to sweat, rain, liquids, sand and dust, making it comfortable for us to carry it around without a case.
The large screen coupled with a high-res 16 megapixel camera really heightens the mobile photography experience with several key components.
The faster auto focus helps you capture important moments of movement more quickly and in focus, while the selective focus blurs the background and accentuates the main subject.
The selective focus is great but it requires a bit of patience because it takes some time to process these shots. Continually, like many smart phone cameras, producing great photos in low light conditions is still an issue that has yet to be solved.
The S5’s photo gallery also houses it’s own photo editing studio, and this feature virtually eliminates the need to download any third party photo editing apps.
We also appreciated the responsiveness of the S5’s quirky voice command, S Voice, who quipped back at our sly questions. The OK Google voice search was also fun to use because it facilitates the use of the search engine.
Galaxy S5 is the first smart phone with a built-in Heart Rate Sensor which enables you to measure your heart rate directly on your phone. Further, the S Health leads you through your fitness routines daily and consistently.
With the addition of a fingerprint scanner, built-in Heart Rate Sensor, and a updated processor, Samsung is really set on improving what has been working successfully for the Galaxy smart phone line – it has been working well!
We also had the chance to pair the Galaxy S5 with the new Gear 2 Neo smart watch.
