Fred Perry is particularly adept at picking out the right people to collaborate with and their collections with Raf Simons, Nigel Cabourn, and Stüssy are some of the best they’ve ever released. This streak continues with the creative duo, Sam and Shaka, of Art Comes First. They have taken pieces from Fred Perry’s classic line-up and injected punk tailoring into them. The first is the ACF Contrast Sleeve Track Jacket, which is combination of three of Fred Perry’s iconic jackets into one. The body is of their track jacket, the sleeves are taken from the Harrington and it’s finished with a bomber jacket finish at the neck line. The jacket is finished with a zip pocket with leather puller on one arm, the Art Comes First patch on the other, along with a draw-cord puller zip, grosgrain tape at the chest, and the original Art Comes First label stitched below Fred Perry’s 30-leaf Laurel Wreath. The second piece is a woven pique polo shirt that is executed in a sharp, monochrome style, the black shirt (also available in white) is seen with a white 30-leaf Laurel Wreath at the chest, accompanied with the original Art Comes First label. Finally, the collection is rounded out with a hat crafted by English hat manufacturer, Christy’s.
