  • Footwear: Sebago & Filson Fall 2011 Collaboration

    MY FIRST MEMORIES WITH SEBAGO:

A few years ago Ronnie had the guys over at Sebago send me these red boat shoes and they changed the game. I was always familiar with the brand and had been blogging them for a while, but that first pair changed it for me. I later went on to work with Sebago and Ronnie to design my own collection.

    HOW I GOT THIS PICTURE:

This past week I was in NYC at the Capsule show and when I stopped by the Sebago booth I saw this beautiful collaboration with the Filson company. I got a whiff of the collaboration when we were out in the Dominican republic designing shoes but never got a chance to see the finished product. It is great to see this collaboration come to life.

WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT THE SEBAGO:

Sebago unlike other boat shoe companies make their shoes on a last and by hand. I witnessed the craftsmanship first hand when we were in DR and I even got the opportunity to get my hands dirty. I sure hope no one got the pairs I sowed myself, I don’t think my craftsmanship skills were up to par. ha!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THESE SEBAGO’s x FILSON BOOTS:

I’ve always had a thing for boots especially if they look rugged and used. I have a great appreciation for heritage and quality, I believe this collaboration tell that story really well. These boots are well designed, well crafted and built to last and those are some of my favorite  characteristic in a shoe.
