Footwear: Nike HTM Flyknit Chukka
Sometimes, fashion can be like rap music: when you really get into it, you start arguing who the best designers are and who you’d want to see work together. For the last ten years, Nike’s dream team has been led by the three-headed monster of a starting line-up that are Mark Parker, Tinker Hatfield and Hiroshi Fujiwara. Their latest creation, the HTM Flyknit Chukka, keeps in line with their self-appointed mandate to push technology to new, innovative heights.
More than just another lightweight material, Nike is betting on Flyknit technology as an ecological alternative, reducing manufacturing waste by two-thirds. Acting as a second skin that adapts to the wearer’s movements, the improvement in overall fit brings them that much closer to the coveted goal of creating the most resilient, versatile footwear as possible. This time around, they picked the Chukka silhouette and combined Flyknit’s malleable upper with Flywire support as well as Lunarlon cushioning for a pair as distinguished as it is refreshing.
