MY FIRST MEMORIES WITH DRAGAN MRDJA:

This past week at the New York Project Show I had the opportunity to interview Dragan Mrdja, designer and owner of the Dragan Footwear company.  As I learned more and more about the brand and its history I quickly became a fan. After trying a pair on I fell in love with the product.

WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT DRAGAN:

DRAGAN is a trained architect and he spent a few years conducting market research before he got into the footwear business. During his extensive market research he discovered  that Serbia has some of the best footwear manufacturers in the world. Most fine Italian footwear companies now make their shoes in Serbia. Dragan wanted to create timeless classics that every man should have in his repertoire no matter what the trend may be at that moment.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT DRAGAN:

The shoes are extremely comfortable and they can be made to order to your exact specifications. He has created his original footwear last which he believes comes from understanding his consumer.  He found a void in the market place and he wanted to fill it. I will be ordering my first pair in the next couple of weeks. I’ve always loved a classic Oxford wingtip…
