  • Footwear: Dr. Martens X Hieronymus Bosch ‘Heaven’ Three-eye Shoe @drmartens

dr-martens-hieronymus-bosch-heaven-three-hole-shoes-0One can immediately spot Dr. Martens with its trademark yellow stitch, grooved sole and heel-loop. The footwear company has always been associated with rebellious self-expression and creativity.

Hieronymus Bosch was a Dutch painter known for his fantastical paintings which illustrated moral and religious concepts and narratives. For the Spring/Summer 2014 season, Dr. Martens have used one of Bosch’s most famous works, ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ to create a capsule collection which features two leather satchels and the “Hell” 8-eye boot.

‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ painting is a triptych, a piece of art that is divided into three sections. The left panel depicts God presenting Eve to Adam and the central panel is a broad panorama of nude figures, fantastical animals and oversized fruit. The panel to the right is a hellscape and portays the torments of damnation.

Featured here is the “Heaven” 3-eye shoe which is available in unisex styles. Made with printed Softy T leather, the footwear styles depict scenes from the painting across the quarter panels and toe areas. The shoe is complete with gold eyelets, additional swing-tags and a premium shoebox.
