We got our “feet wet” at Hudson’s Bay with Clarks X GORE-TEX Midford Alp boot, a small pool of water was setup to test the waterproof GORE-TEX upper. Needless to say, as we sloshed in the water not a drop was felt.
The upper of the Midford Alp is made from brown burnished, full-grain leather and it is complemented with orange British Millerain waxed cotton accents on the tongue and around the heel, a pull on heel tab eases you in and out of the boot.
As soon as we put it on, we immediately felt comfortable in them. The boot is built with GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Footwear technology, which features a GORE-TEX membrane underneath the upper that provides lasting waterproof breathability.
The boots are uninsulated, which means they are more suitable for moderate temperatures but with a pair of wool socks, it can provide some enhanced comfort and warmth during the colder months. Further, the gusseted tongue ensures that any foreign debris stays out.
The boots run true to size but if plan on wearing thick socks, we suggest you go a size up.
