Since its inauguration in 2012, MURAL Festival has continued to foster, promote and celebrate street art in Montreal. Throughout its ten day duration, the festival brings renowned street artists, muralists, and musicians together to celebrate the inseparable connection between the two disciplines. The festivities take place on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, a street that has endearingly been called “The Main,” because it has long been considered the epicentre of the city.
The 2017 edition opened with the Fool’s Gold Day Off party hosted by Montreal’s own, DJ A-Trak. Joining him on the stage were artists such as Jazz Cartier, A$AP Nast, and High Klassified.
Our time during the festival was spent between Hennessy’s VIP experience and at the front of the stage taking photos of the performances. The energy pulsating from the crowd was contagious. With a five-story building as his canvas, a muralist worked on a new masterpiece, while Jazz Cartier performed below.
MURAL fest is the perfect introduction to summer in the city.
