Food: Taste For Life A Glamourous Foodie Fundraiser by the ICRF @ICRFMTL
Montreal’s Philantrophists were treated to a special foodie event this year at the Israel Cancer Research Fund’s New Leadership Division, Taste for Life. The event was a culinary gathering of some of the city’s best restaurants and was hosted by hosted by none other than Chef Antonio Park (Chopped Canada, Park Restaurant, Lavanderia, Jatoba). This marks the 4th time this fundraiser was held and the evening was spent at popular TIME Supper Club.
Returning crowd pleasers included grilled cheese by Suwu, chicken and waffles by Monsieur, Bar Anabel, Lesters’ Deli piping hot smoked meat sandwiches, and freshly cut filet mignon from Moishes served with coleslaw and pickles to boot. Taste for Life newbies are sure to become instant show-stoppers: L’Orignal, Harlow, Dolcetto, Taverne sur le Square, Rasoï, Cho, Miss Prêt-À-Manger, BuonaNotte, Salmagondis, and Time Supper Club. Save room for dessert; coming in hot will be La Cornetteria’s melt-in-your-mouth cronuts, and sugarcoated sweets from Squish, Beaver Tails, TCBY and coffee by Filoco.
The evening also honoured cancer survivor Jessica Scalera, who battled stage-four brain cancer including over three years of chemotherapy with inspiring courage and a relentless positivity. With the loving support of friends and family, and innovations in cancer treatment made possible through research foundations like ICRF, Jessica has been in remission for over three years. Event proceeds will go toward a research project grant with a focus on brain cancer.
