Clothing: The Real Mccoy’s M-1951 Parka
The Real McCoy’s is a unique label. Helmed by owner Hitoshi Tsujimoto, the Japanese-manufactured pieces carry heavy tones of 1940’s/1950’s American influence, and what separates McCoy’s from other brands is the highly skilled craftsmanship involved in making the garments using the methods and machinery from the past to maintain a true vintage aesthetic and quality. The name itself is in reference to military reproductions from the US Navy, Army, and Airforce.
For this season, The Real McCoy’s offers up a finely executed reproduction of the classic M-1951 Parka. The jacket, in particular, is most well-known for its iconic fishtail at the rear. It’s long shell provides convenience for wearing over-top layers and protects superbly against the outdoor elements. The primary make-up of the parka is 100% cotton and is wool-lined within the pockets to ensure dryness.
