Footwear

USE IT. FOLD IT. ZIP IT. CLIP IT. ha! These are super rad… imagine a pair of shoes that are ultra packable yet still functional and tough. When I was in France I wish I had a pair of kicks like this. Sometimes you just want to travel light and not carry too many shoes, this is perfect. The Timberland Radler Trail Camp Moc are super awesome. I started wearing them already since they arrived today.

The DWR-treated ripstop fabric is designed for durability and weather resistance. A removable, fleece-lined footbed gives underfoot warmth and comfort. This is true, they are really comfortable. The Radler’s low profile lug outsoles not only grip, they’re made of environmentally conscious Green Rubber that made of 42% recycled rubber.

These are also available in Black if you are not in colours.

Thanks Timberland.

Footwear: Tretorn- Nylite Canvas

September 19th, 2011

I got some new kicks and balls today! Tretorn sent over a pair of the Nylite‘s in canvas. Kind of sucks that the summer is pretty much over and I won’t get to wear these until next season. Actually I can wear these when I take a trip to the South. These are my first pair of Tretorn’s and I think they are cool, super lightweight and very clean. They came in a cool package with some Tennis Balls (not included).

The Tretorn Nylite men’s tennis shoes, born in 1967, were regarded as the first luxury sports shoe. Natural canvas upper. Classic Gullwing logo. Textile lining and sockliner, Eco OrthoLite® insole. Rubber cupsole.

Thanks Tretorn

Footwear: Red Wing Postman Oxfords

September 16th, 2011

Recently when I visited the Red Wing HQ I picked up a pair of the Red Wing Heritage Postman Oxfords and I love them. I had a chance to give them a wear this week in during fashion week in NYC. They made their debut at the influencer dinner that I attended and they received a lot of compliments. They brake it extremely easy and are really comfortable. What attracted me to this shoe was the military like shine that they have, they looked like something a army sergeant would wear and I needed something like this in my repertoire.

The Red Wing Heritage Postman Oxford, a shoe originally developed for American policemen and postmen in the 1960′s. Ervell customized the shoes for each look, and included a lucite wedge insert in some women’s versions.

In the early 1960′s, policemen still walked their beats and the postman walked his mail route. Of course they needed comfortable and sturdy footwear for the eight hours spent on their feet. Red Wing responded with style #101, a sturdy black oxford with a moldable insole. It could be polished to meet their uniform requirements, but tough enough for everything their day encountered.

To promote the shoes, Red Wing began advertising using illustrations from Norman Rockwell. He is often referred to as the best-known American artist of the 20th century. He was known for illustrating advertising and promotional pieces, but he was also highly selective in which projects he chose to complete. Fortunately, Red Wing Shoes was an ideal match for his talents. Our boots were worn primarily by hardworking, everyday Americans. These people were very often the subject of Rockwell’s heartwarming paintings. With a lighthearted and instantly identifiable style, his artwork was a reflection of America at the time. His illustrations for Red Wing Shoes told visual stories of the workplace and featured the tagline, “Wear Red Wing Shoes…for people who work.”

Gray boots are probably going to be my thing for this season. These updated images of the Dunderdon x Timberland collection make them even more desirable. The boots in person look awesome and I can’t wait to wear these. These will be dropping shortly at the Dunderdon location in NYC.

The UPS man showed up today with some fresh sneakers from the people over at PUMA. To be honest I haven’t worn PUMA in years, I only wore the Clientele Clydes and the MTV joints from a few years ago. I’ve always been a fan of the suedes they are a great part of their archives.

I’m really feeling the tonal suedes, black of course being my favorite then followed by red. I see these getting some rotation in the next couple of weeks.

The new PUMA bags are pretty awesome. It is like a shoebox/bag and they say it is smarter than the old fashion shoebox because it uses 65% less paper. #awesome

Thanks Puma.

Today my friends over at Converse sent me over some new kicks and I love them. The new Converse x CLOT CT Spec ox’s are really dope. The cloudburst color is in suede & white and the black is in canvas & gum. These just look so fresh, I just can’t explain it. The subtle hit of the CLOT logo at the heel is special.

These hit retail this week! Enjoy!

I finally had a chance to take my Pointer’s out of the box this morning and take some shots to show you guys. The  Pointer Pluckrose duck boot is an extremely lightweight casual shoe that looks great with jeans or non-denim.

The color is called chocolate white and comes in a waxed canvas & suede with a marshmallow bottom. They look really nice and them being lightweight is a huge bonus.

While I was in Vegas for the PROJECT show I had the opportunity to get a first look at the DUNDERDON x Timberland footwear collaboration. They were not showing at the show but I sat down with Dunderdon who showed me the new product launching this Fall.

I found the collection to be really clean, simple and the suede makes them look very mannish, they of course used a vibram outsole which is always a great touch.. I really like the gray version!
