A few weeks ago we were invited to the Casino de Montreal to experience the V.I.P evening for ourselves.

IMG_9647IMG_9677IMG_9649IMG_9767The evening began at the Dame de Coeur bar situated in the promenade level of the casino. A rainbow of colourful projections emitted from the large multimedia wall beside the bar and the space was sophisticatedly modern. There we were served Champagne and given a brief run through of what was in store for us.

The first event was the professional photo shoot; we were introduced to the stylists that would help us choose our outfits. We were given the option to dress up as an agent, a mob boss, a vacationer, a cowboy or Elvis Presley. We opted to dress up as the cowboy.

After we got into our costumes, make-up artists then prepared us for the shoot with a little touch ups. We posed around a blackjack table as the photographer urged us to express ourselves in front of the camera. It was really fun!

Casino Glam Shoot IMG_9657Next we participated in a private blackjack tournament and we were each given five thousand dollars to start. The person who had had highest amount at the end of twenty-one hands would be declared the winner. The winner would receive one hundred and fifty dollars, while the two runner-ups would win one hundred and fifty dollars respectively.

Now us being occasional gamblers, we did not expect to come out on top, but at the end of the game we turned out to be the winners!

IMG_9692 IMG_9740 IMG_9741 IMG_9745 IMG_9760 IMG_9765We ended our night with dinner upstairs at Le Montreal restaurant, where Executive Chef Jean-Pierre Curtat serves a delectable menu of reinvented classics, grilled specialties and discovery dishes.

We started with appetizers of Pan-Seared Foie Gras with Market Fresh Exotic Fruit, along with Giant Shrimp Tempura served with Spring Roll, Pear and Lychee Coulis with green cardamom – which was incredibly delicious. For the main course our friendly waiter recommended we try the filet mignon – his recommendation was spot on. The beef was cooked to a succulent medium rare, we savoured every bite.

For dessert we enjoyed their Crème Brûlée trilogy and their Tiramisu Revisited. The trilogy consists three different flavours – chocolate, caramel and vanilla. The Brûlée was perfectly caramelized and the Tiramisu was flaky, we left wanting more!

Thank you Casino de Montreal for having us! We look forward to our next visit.
