SMMF: Public School’s S/S 16 Campaign Honours Photographer Peter Hujar @PublicSchoolNYC
Public School‘s new Spring/Summer 2016 campaign features dominantly black-and-white portraits that are then placed beside a rusted out car. The photographs, which were taken by the skilled Lachlan Bailey, are a tribute to late photographer Peter Hujar, who captured New York’s after-hours scene in the late 1970s and ’80s.
As designers Chow and Osborne told the Cut, “the pairing of the broken-down car against the collection was meant to showcase the extremes between the overtly feminine and refined theme of our spring collection, and pair it against the really strong and interesting casting of our friends, models, and artists.”
