Last September, HODINKEE officially launched its eponymous HODINKEE Magazine. Within its pages hold stories of iconic timepieces, persons of interest, and more. Building upon the success of the inaugural release, their second edition features Apple’s Chief Design officer, Jony Ive.
HODINKEE’s founder, Ben Clymer, sits down with the design legend to discuss the Apple Watch. During the lengthy interview, Mr. Clymer takes a deep dive with Mr. Ive on the early discussions of the watch, the design process, and the experts they’ve consulted with.
Mr. Clymer also takes the opportunity to talk watches with the designer, asking him to recollect the memories of his grandfather’s pocket watch and the Omega Speedmaster Professional he bought in Kowloon. These moments are just a few of the important links that connect Mr. Ive to the creation of the Apple Watch.
As you read through the story, there are also captivating photographs of the Apple Park in all its majesty.
The magazine is filled with other features like an in-depth look at the BMW M1, a dissection of Universal Genève’s waterproof chronographs, along with interviews with Director Spike Lee, and Westworld actor James Marsden.
