A Spike Lee Joint: Words Matter Featuring Michael B. Jordan for Coach

Fresh off of his win for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2019 Academy Awards, Spike Lee has directed a short film for the American luxury brand, Coach. The film is titled “Words Matter” and it stars Coach Menswear’s global face, Actor and Producer Michael B. Jordan.
With this film, Coach is sharing its values of inclusion, optimism and courage. And partnering with the movie industry’s most vocal leaders like Lee and Jordan shows their commitment to our society forward positively.
The opening scenes shows Jordan riding his motorcycle through a desert of outside of Los Angeles. As he stops to examine the dry landscape before him, he notices four rocks that are marked with negative words “Hatred,” “Evil,” “Bigotry,” and “Lies.” Refusing to acknowledge their meanings Jordan tosses them away and replaces them with the uplifting words “Courage,” “Truth,” “Love,” and “Dream.”
The message that Coach, Lee, and Jordan are trying send is clear. We must eliminate the negativity that has plagued our society for generations.
To continue conversation, Coach is has also tapped friends of the brand to create series of personal videos that share their point of view on why words matter. They are directed by Lee’s children, Jackson and Satchel. The series of shorts features the artist Whisbe, Nets player Spencer Dinwiddie, and among others. Be on the look out as they will be published over the course of several days.
