While visiting sparsely inhabited region of Northern Scandinavia, Hiroki Nakamura was spotted by an elder tribeswoman wearing his prototype sheepskin boots.Concerned for his well-being, she made him a pair of “primitive” reindeer-hide boots. He claims those were some of the warmest, most breathable boots he’d ever worn. This inspired him to create the FOLK series we know of today. To this day, Hiroki continues to explore his interests in the moccasins with this new Huron Moc Hi-Folk silhouette.

As a result, the high top sneaker is made of premium red deer leather that sits atop Visvim‘s low profile Vibram folk soles. Those aforementioned details help the Japanese brand standout amidst all the others in its class. In particular, we appreciate the intricate motifs, such as the hand beaded decorations on the toe box. Other notable details include a natural cork footbed, smooth leather insoles and signature hand painted tongue tag.

Visvim also released two new shoes; the FBT (Red Deer) in black or brown and the Shagwai Hi (Wool Blend) in black or olive. All three models are available online at Haven.

To complete the look, we recommend you combine one with a Kimono.
