Mr. Shigeru Mizuki is a cartoonist who invented the cult classic “GeGeGe no Kitarō.” The series is best known for the popularization of creatures known as yōkai, which are a class of supernatural monsters in Japanese folklore. Since its inception, it has seen many screen adaptations, most notably the film GeGeGe no Kitarō: Yokai Express! The Phantom Train. It’s latest collaboration with skater-brand Vans in the form of a sneaker rendition. This collection presents two unique Old Skool iterations that are embellished with Mr.Mizuki’s fictional characters. The side panels are decorated in a black and yellow checkerboard pattern. One of the additional attractions is found in the heel tab, where you’ll spot all of Mizuki’s characters such his eyedroppers, shine in the dark thanks to phosphorescent prints.

The collection also includes limited six-panel caps and long-sleeve tees.

The Vans x ‘GeGeGe no Kitarō’ collaboration is scheduled for release on November 23rd at select Vans accounts in Japan.
