  • News: Bentley Continental GT3 Poised To Make Race Debut @BentleyMotors

Ten years after their dominating win at the 2003 Le Mans, Bentley returns to motorsport with their new Continental GT3 race car. They are set to participate at the 2013 Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi on December 13th.

The GT3 has undergone an intensive programme of performance, setup and durability testing at tracks across Europe since it’s July 2013 debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car has proven itself to be reliable, fast and dynamic in all conditions.

Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, Brian Gush, comments: “The car has performed extremely well so far, and has matched or exceeded our simulations in every respect. With 3000 km of testing completed already, the team is very pleased with progress and we’re gaining confidence in our package. We’re all looking forward to the Gulf 12 Hours in December and can’t wait to run the car against the competition for the first time in its first test race.”

Built in conjunction with M-Sport, the car is powered by a race-prepared 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine which produces 600 bhp in an unrestricted race configuration. The steering wheel, carbon racing seat and leather door-pulls are all trimmed and stitched by the craftsmen and women at the Bentley factory in Crewe. The Continental GT3 stays true to Bentley’s luxury aesthetic, but its motorsport performance sets it apart from the rest.
