what I learned today 1

If you’re like me you watch a lot of movies and you don’t only watch them for entertainment reasons. You watch movies to get perspective and to learn about character development and get into the mind frame of writers. I actually learn a lot from movies, especially gangster movies. You learn lessons on life, codes and etiquette and sometimes what not to do.

Yesterday I was speaking with a friend of mine and I was explaining him my frustration with making certain power moves happen and how come things never go smooth or easy. I started thinking about all the gangster movies I’ve seen over the years and there is always 1 common theme, nothing ever goes smooth and easy. You ever watch a movie and the guy is about to make a deal of a lifetime and then he gets double-crossed? I love Seinfeld and I always used to get upset when Kramer was about to make a deal of his lifetime and them boom he gets screwed or screws himself out of the deal. Thinking about all of that is when it hit me: IF IT WAS EASY, EVERYONE WOULD BE DOING IT.

Ari Gold is Ari Gold…That is why he gets paid the big bucks! If everyone could do what Ari does there would be no balance in the world.

I don’t want to shit on popular belief but when some rappers become successful they are really quick to say, “If I can make it, you can make it” What if that is not entirely true? What if he or she had the necessary mind frame or skills or even the knowhow without even knowing it? I believe that we all have it in us somewhere but not everyone can just it make happen. If that were the case there would be a thousands Jay-Z’s and a million U2’s.

If becoming a millionaire is so easy, everyone would be millionaires. If blogging was easy everyone would have a blog (even though it seems so) and everyone would be successful at it. Everyone would be opening packages from Nike and traveling the world. It is more than just getting into something because you think it is easy. There are strategies, concepts, hard work, connections and faith.

A rich man once told, the first million is the hardest and the second and third are easy… What does this tell us? Things never go smooth because the world won’t allow it to happen this way, everything takes work and dedication and you have to learn the angles. A lot of artists were working for decades before we even heard of them…we sometimes think they just popped out of the blue.

Another wise person said: The easiest way to double your money is to fold it in two.

If only life were so easy! So every struggle I encounter, every deal I negotiate, every opportunity that knocks on my door I still have to work every angle to make it successful or to overcome it. Even though the knock came rather easy.

    Think and Grow Rich.
Life is crazy, sometimes the first step you take outside of your house can be the one millimeter you travel closer to your goal. And that goal can be years away. There is an answer to every question, its the quest part that is the longest.

This is the perfect example of the saying “knowledge is power” which is not true…If knowledge was power then this generation would be incredibly powerful thanks to the world wide web, and this has proven to be the contrary…Knowledge is potential power and become powerful depending on who uses it and how it is used.

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. But, the real challenge is not struggling against the moment and seeing every moment as an opportunity. The problem with human nature is we “judge” every moment good or bad instead of just it being what it is. (I’m gulity of this myself) We get it in our mind what things are supposed to look like exactly and miss out on most opportunities b/c it doesn’t match. If Kanye had gotten signed by Capitol records like he thought it was initially supposed to go down, who knows if we would have the Kanye that we have today – he may have gotten shelved. Same goes with most successful people. Everything is as it should be because it took the entire universe to create this exact moment.

Everyone has a unique purpose and I believe when you have an intention to fulfill your purpose it isn’t such a struggle – the law of least effort kicks in which some people call luck.

    Just one chicks opinion…
