  • My Life: Tokyo Japan by Marcus Troy -The First 48

About 4 weeks ago my friends and I landed in Tokyo to attend the Globe Trotter x James Bond Skyfall movie premiere. We decided to make the popular Cerulean Towers our home for the week.  Meet my friends Kwasi, Hommy and my twin brother Naskademini. These people have all graced the pages of MT.COM… follow the first 48.

My footwear of choice for the daily walks and runs were my inneva wovens. I can’t say I made the right choice, my foot may be too wide for this silhouette but I did however look stylish as can be!

Meet my friend Hommy Diaz, he packed his bags and hopped on the next flight smoking to Narita airport. That Hillside scarf was the envy of many.. ha

My style was comprised of shorts and running tights for the most part. Comfort is key when dressing up and function is paramount.

Meet Jarrett Reynolds  my friend and also someone who I would call our  “FIXER” A fixer is someone usually based in another country who knows the ins and outs of a given country and who can guide you and take you to all the spots you would never find on a tourist map. A fixer knows his way around the city and knows the way of the land. A fixer is a very important part of travel and my friend Daouda can tell you more about the fixers in his life.

Jarrett took us to a place that was probably the coolest place I’ve ever been to in my life for a drink. The place is so cool that I am reluctant to even say the name…

Jarrett took us to a bar in tokyo that has over 10 000 vinyl records and the owner plays anything you like. His collection comprises of Jazz, Blleus and Soul and of course Hip hop.

    Shots and hip hop

The owner has been running this joint for over 10 years and he is the ultimate Japanese Hip Hop head. If I am not mistaken he must be like 60. Check out the old Dj Enuff & Evil Dee mixtapes. #crazy

I had to get a flick with the owner of this super dope hangout that seats about 10 people. So cool.

    Great food.

Jarrett has some pretty amazing GORO pieces and he also speaks Japanese. Great “FIXER” ordering food in Japan is not as easy as you may think.

This is the start of the next 48 hours… check in later for the next post.
