MY LIFE: I was a witness to history yesterday!
November 5th, 2008I’m so blessed to have been able to be a witness to history. To see an African American man become president of the United States is truly something amazing. So many of our brothers and sisters died in the game of life before they could ever see such an historical moment. All the misguided people around the world who never thought they could amount to anything now have a hope. I think the glass ceiling has been broken…. I wish some of my friends who have passed were alive to see this moment. I think Tupac would have enjoyed this accomplishment.
There is so much I want to say…..
Tupac Changes:
I think we did it….
Thanks Katie for the txt!

We sure did! Touching post man. I listened to his speach again this morning and that’s when it hit me. WoW did this really happen. Words cannot express what I am feeling right now. Guess that’s why it took me 20 minutes to write these few words. It’s truly is a beautiful day.
I can come up with all the right quotes from our brothers & sisters who passed away, i can take lines from artists who actually believed and supported Barack from day one (quick note: Jay’s lines were classic. At first, I taught Nas wrote those lines for him, lol!) and can watch millions of African-American who voted for the first time in their lives but to me the most amazing thing was the feelings of joy, happiness & relief that manifested themselves through out the entire world. It was like a breath of fresh air, amazing! (Mine took 30 mins, lol!)
History is Marked…
this is wake up call.
FOR EVERYONE.
- all the wicked shit that has happen’d in the last 8 years.
we need a “breathe of FRESH air”
Tupac’s song “Changes” really captures the emotions of the time. The song was written in the early 90’s and we’re now here at this monumental time in history more than 12 years later. There have been changes, but we have to recognize the fact that Obama is a self-identified African American although he is biologically biracial and was raised by white grandparents and was elected after (and perhaps because) GWBush ruined the country. So are we, as a voting public, really over all of our prejudices? No. Absolutely not. This is one giant leap towards erasing the discrimination all minorities feel, but we’re still very far off the goal.
