I’ve been wearing Ronnie Fieg creations for a few years now and the growth has been stunning. His collection with Sebago has evolved beautifully and I am happy that I was able to witness the early developments of this on going project. Ronnie gifted me with this great pair of Sebago Mohican’s. I love the rich forest green and the the RF branded leather sole patch detail is killer. I prefer the campsides outsole over the traditional boat shoe sole. I think it makes the silhouette look a lot cleaner.
Thanks Ronnie for the early love!
The team over at Blackberry invited me to their offices for a 1 on 1 session with a Blackberry Specialist to introduce me to all the new features of the Blackberry Playbook 2.0. ( what a great idea) A few of the new features got me really excited and I’ve laid them out for you incase you have a Playbook or you were planning on getting one. They were kind enough to give me a brand new Playbook with some really nice accessories, like this beautiful Want Les Essentiels de La Vie leather case with 2 tone zipper. The HDMI wire to connect my Playbook to my TV and a Blackberry Moleskin.
After the presentation I had a whole new outlook on the Playbook. A few advantages of the the Playbook is that you never really have to change it, they will continue to update the platform and the technology so you can hold onto the device for a longer period of time. Oh and look out for Blackberry 10 coming soon…
BlackBerry Bridge
BlackBerry Bridge functionality that allows you to use your BlackBerry smartphone as a remote control for your PlayBook. Great for presentations or using your blackberry with your TV.
All-New Built-In Functionality
Built-in email, calendar and contacts. Unique to BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0, you can now manage all of your email accounts with a unified inbox, manage your schedule with new features like a People View of your day (which lets you quickly see everyone who is on your agenda for that day), and view your contacts as a social hub that contains information from popular social networks including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Social Integration in Calendar & Contacts
The built in calendar is designed to pull in the information that matters to you from your social networks and make it available where and when you need it. Contact cards are dynamically populated with the latest real-time information from your Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts to create a consolidated view of your contacts most recent updates.
Applications
The 2.0 update also now runs most of the Android applications. This will only get better with time.

I finally had the chance to check out Ronnie Fieg’s retail location called KITH. The shop is really dope and houses some of your favorite footwear brands. Not to mention that he also has a Nike tier 0 account. The shop feels very friendly and has a real nice vibe to it. If you are ever in NYC make sure you check out the shop on Broadway.

Kith & Kin. That means friends and family. Kith also means to make known or become known in Old Scottish. When I began thinking about the concept of the store I wanted to keep things tight. I tried to create a friendly and personal environment with the highest quality footwear and attire for any occasion. I want people to come into the store and leave with a dope pair of shoes, and a feeling that they are a part of something special. My crew has been with me since the beginning and understand the importance of building relationships with each new face that walks through the door. “Just us,” that’s the idea. I want to make everyone that works in the store, purchases something in the store, or walks through the door, feel like they belong, and feel like family. My friends are my family. This is KITH. RF
Nike’s Innovation Kitchen has cooked up some of the sports world’s greatest products and technologies. Tales From The Kitchen Episode 2 takes a fun look inside the story of the birth of one of it’s best ‘recipes’, NIKE FREE.
Tobie Hatfield is Innovation Director in NIKE’s Innovation Kitchen.
In the early 2000s Tobie and a group of colleagues began a journey to find a way to bring to life the concept of training barefoot, a technique that helps strengthen the foot. Their goal was to create a product that replicated barefoot training while offering the support and traction of a lightweight performance shoe.
This is the story of the birth of NIKE FREE.
These are awesome! Adidas Originals 2012 Hike Sandal look so great! People are not feeling the price of $130 but I really appreciate these. Good job Adidas!
I had a chance to take a look at Lincs by David Chu Fall 2012 Collection and it was awesome. Each piece that I had a chance to preview was so well designed and crafted. I have a new found respect for David Chu and his new ventures. That double breasted pea coat jacket is something special. Looking forward to acquiring some of these pieces for the fall.
About David Chu
Designer and entrepreneur David Chu first rose to prominence in the eighties with the success of his lifestyle brand, Nautica. It was his interpretation of his six sailing jackets, marrying technical function and all-American style, that helped turn Nautica into a global brand. When Nautica was acquired in 2003, its worldwide sales were in excess of $1 billion.
Today, from his studio and showroom in a refined Manhattan townhouse, Chu designs the LINCS collection alongside other brands managed and operated by his firm DC Design International (DCDI).
Back in October we ran into the guys from Saturdays Surf in Japan and they told us that they were about to open up shop in Japan. Happy to finally see this shop come to fruition. If can’t make your way out to Japan make sure to check out their NYC location.
