    Uhuru Striper Coffee Table @uhurudesign Uhuru Striper Coffee Table @uhurudesign Uhuru Striper Coffee Table @uhurudesignUhuru was founded in 2004 by Rhode Island School of Design Graduates Jason Horvath and Bill Hilgendorf. They committed to environmental sustainability, while producing furniture that exhibits avant-garde design.

    We particularly appreciate the uniqueness of their Striper Table, which made from thin strips of salvaged wood that are fit together, sanded, and hand-finished, hence the distinctive striped surface. Finer details include an uneven underside and a handsome steel frame.

    Uhuru utilizes the scraps of fine hardwood produced by the local workshops in Brooklyn. This method adheres to their belief in sustainability and the scraps add character to many of their pieces.
