Every September, Apple has the world waiting to announce their new releases. Speculation runs amok on whether they’ll release a new iPhone or a new iOS. Nonetheless, the tech giant seems to always deliver a product beyond our imagination. So it comes as no surprise that Apple was set to surprise the world again the year.

First, they unveiled the iPhone 8, which was a mere upgrade to the iPhone 7. This was the soft blow and we sat in offices watching the keynote feeling a bit disappointed. We were expecting the iPhone 8 to be something we’ve never seen before. A few moments after, Tim Cook made another announcement – the iPhone X (10). We thought for a moment, wait what? There’s more? We didn’t just get two new iPhones release but three!?

The iPhone X represents a culmination of all the innovations that we’ve seen since Apple launched the first iPhone in 2007. If you’ve been tracking the development of the iPhone since its initial release, the iPhone X feels surreal. It’s a taste of what the future has to offer right in the palm of our hands. But what makes the new iPhone X so spectacular? For starters, it’s the end-to-end 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display with an 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio. For some of us, it’s the incredible 12-megapixel dual camera with 4k video recording capabilities, for others it’s the facial recognition to unlock the device. But one thing stood out the most, drumroll please… Animojis!

We all are familiar with the groundbreaking technology that Apple packs into their products, but we were introduced into another side of the tech brand, a playful side. The iPhone X’s true depth camera is capable of picking up 50 different muscle movements and sending this data to an emoji that mimics these facial expressions and movements in real time. The gaming experience has also been changed with the capability of augmented reality. It will make you wonder what developers are going to come up with following the release of the iPhone X.

Another new development is the A11 bionic chip, which Apple claims to be the smartest chip in a smartphone to date. The chip features a neural engine capable of handling the workload of AI with a performance of 600 billion operations per second. Now you are probably wondering why does a smartphone need that kind of power? The iPhone X is capable of learning to meet your standards. It is capable of recognizing your face as it changes, help you navigate places, and more. With these new capabilities of the iPhone X it’s no surprise as to why.

Here are some other cool features jam packed into the world’s newest, smartest phone:

Capacity: 64-256 GB
Size:  5.65 x 2.79 x 0.30“ with a weight of 174 grams
Water resistance: splash, water and dust
