Most of the luxury automotive brands carry with them a storied history, some dating back hundreds of years. As for Genesis Motors, their story began November 4th, 2015. What followed was their buoyant flagship G90, along with the sport-oriented G80 sedans (more to come on that later). In the coming years, Genesis Motors will expand their portfolio by introducing new vehicles in different segments. With that being said, only time will tell us how successful the automotive brand will be, however, they are off to a great start.
This year, Genesis Motors has hit the ground running, by making long strides with their latest concept vehicle, dubbed the “New York.” It’s realized as a sharp, hybrid-powered sedan with a 2.0-liter, four cylinder that produces 242-horsepower with 260 lbs-ft of torque. In terms of transmission, there’s an eight-speed automatic that aims to switch gears efficiently. The exterior speaks to the performance aspirations, and its goal to match-up against its competitors. Unlike most concepts, the New York’s proportions look ready to enter the production line with its eye-catching hexagonal grille, sharp lighting, and audacious wheels. When you take a look inside the New York, the makings of its interior are reflective of a concept. You’ll notice the earthy tones that are expressed in the leather, along with the super wide 21-inch display screen, and the open-topped steering wheel.
Normally, concept vehicles are extravagant and the technology they’ve envisioned while eventually come into production in the far future. However with Genesis’ concept, it seems that these dreams will come much sooner than later.
